Our Story
Our founder, a management accountant by profession, had recently embarked on the most significant journey of her life – motherhood. Her baby girl, was her world, and like every new mother, she wanted to give her the best. However, she faced a challenge that many parents encounter but few talk about: the cost and environmental impact of disposable diapers.
The constant need to buy disposable diapers was putting a strain on her budget, and the sight of the diaper pail, perpetually filled with used diapers, weighed heavily on her conscience. She couldn’t ignore the environmental toll of her choices. It was during one particularly frustrating diaper change that she had her lightbulb moment. “There has to be a better way,” she thought.
With determination in her heart and her baby by her side, she began researching alternatives to disposable diapers. She discovered a vibrant community of parents advocating for cloth diapers, praising their economic and environmental benefits. But as she delved deeper, she realized that while cloth diapers were indeed a better choice, many parents were intimidated by the perceived inconvenience and lack of stylish options available in Sri Lanka.
Seeing an opportunity to make a difference, she decided to start her own cloth diaper business. She envisioned a line of cloth diapers that were not only eco-friendly and cost-effective but also fashionable and easy to use. She spent months researching materials, design patterns, and the manufacturing process. Her living room was transformed into a makeshift design studio, with swatches of colorful fabric and sketches of diaper patterns strewn about.
Finally, after countless late nights and early mornings, “Cozy Bubs” was born. Cozy Bubs offers a range of cloth diapers in whimsical patterns and vibrant colors, all made from sustainable materials. The first batch of cloth diapers sold out within weeks, a testament to the demand for sustainable parenting solutions here in Sri Lanka.
